Started in a cramped Vancouver coffee shop back in 2012, Quest Hollow Spire grew from sketches on napkins to full-blown architectural projects that actually matter to people.
Look, we've been doing this long enough to know that nobody wants another sterile glass box or a building that looks good on Instagram but sucks to actually live or work in.
What we're after is creating spaces that feel right. Not just look right - actually feel right when you walk through them. It's about light hitting a wall at just the right angle, hallways that make sense without thinking about them, and rooms that adapt to how you actually use 'em.
We're big on the whole sustainability thing, but not in that preachy way. More like "hey, this'll save you money and won't trash the planet" kinda approach. Plus, working with Vancouver's heritage buildings has taught us that old doesn't mean outdated - sometimes the best design is knowing what to keep.
"Every project's got its own story, and our job isn't to impose some grand vision - it's to listen, sketch, revise, and eventually craft something that clicks."
We're a crew of eight architects, designers, and project coordinators who've worked on everything from tiny laneway houses to mixed-use towers downtown. Most of us met at UBC's architecture program, though a couple folks joined after years at bigger firms where they got tired of cookie-cutter projects.
What keeps us going? Honestly, it's seeing clients walk into their finished space for the first time. That moment when they realize we actually listened to what they needed - not what we thought looked cool.
No corporate jargon here - just the straight goods on our process.
We grab coffee (or beer, we're flexible) and you tell us what's actually bugging you about your current space. No sales pitch from us - just questions and listening.
Lots of sketches, some 3D renders, and regular check-ins. We'll show you options, not just one "take it or leave it" design. Your feedback shapes everything.
We don't just hand off drawings and disappear. Site visits, contractor coordination, problem-solving when stuff comes up - we're there till it's done right.
This city's got challenges - crazy real estate, heritage preservation rules, seismic requirements, and weather that tests every building material. But that's exactly why we love it here.
We've learned to work with Vancouver's quirks instead of fighting them. The rain? Great for testing building envelope details. Limited lot sizes? Forces us to get creative with space. Heritage districts? Taught us respect for what came before.
Been here since the beginning, watched the city change, and we're pretty invested in making sure new buildings actually contribute something meaningful to the neighborhoods they're in.
Whether you've got detailed plans or just a vague idea that something needs to change, we're up for the conversation.
